Photography & Woven Sculpture Exhibition

COMMON THREADS

‘Common Threads’

A collaborative exhibition by award winning photographer Jerusha McDowell and acclaimed woven sculpture artist Linder Coomber. Common Threads weaves together the shared elements of both mediums in a celebration of tone, texture, landscape and form.

Internationally recognised Jerusha’s distinctive work has a cinematic quality rooted in visual storytelling.  Her ongoing project ‘Where The Snowy Mountain Stockmen Used To Ride’ earned her a Top 5 place in last years International Photography Awards. The soft muted tones of her landscapes meld beautifully with the natural materials and textures of Linda’s woven sculptures.

Linda’s work combines natural materials in beautiful and often functional pieces. One of her signature materials are naturally shed deer antlers, which she uses as handles and frames for handwoven cordage baskets. “I love the idea of bringing the natural world into our interiors” She says.  Her work recently took out First Prize for Sculpture in both the E.J. Mantova Memorial Art Competition and the Coffs Coast Art Prize. She is also a regular contributor to the prestigious invitation only Packsaddle exhibition at the New England Regional Art Museum in Armidale.

Common Threads is about about connection.

A conversation in the shared language of creativity and friendship.
